Solange “A Seat at the Table” Album Review

I am going to get straight to the point. I love this album and it is very refreshing! I love everything about it. Solange is so elegant and graceful in her singing and visual presentation. No need to try to compare her to her big sister or anyone else for that matter, because she is a lane of her own. One of my favorite songs on the album is “Don’t Wish Me Well”…. “I’m going all the waaaaaay, ayy. And now you’re almost out of of vieeewwww”. Her voice is so angelic and peaceful, yet POWERFUL! She also has a jam with her fellow Louisiana native Lil’ Wayne called, “Mad”. Please get into the two videos that she has put out for “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair”. The visuals are going to just make your soul melt. There is just something so genuine about her music and something so aesthetically pleasing about how she chooses to translate her sound visually. This album is so good that even the interludes have major replay value. I love the interlude that her mother Ms. Tina speaks on. She talks about the beauty in black people and how we are made to feel guilty for loving and embracing that beauty.

I just want to take a moment to thank Solange for creating and manifesting this work. I feel that it was made just for me and its speaks directly to my soul.
